Does this profile section on my CV look OK?

"Eager to pursue an exciting career in Mechanical Engineering. BEng Honours in Mechanical Design Engineering and 324 UCAS points. Seeking a challenging and rewarding graduate position to demonstrate my abilities and determination to succeed. Looking to bring innovative ideas and solutions that are cost effective and practical. Previous career working to high standards as an Analytical Chemist in pharmaceutical R&D."

Is it, generally speaking, a good idea to put certain bits in BOLD font or should I leave it all the same? Which bits would you put in BOLD font?

  1. Its quit right but I suggest u one thing that is you should to use of right caps lock letter

  2. dont do bold. It is too brash for Engineers / Scientists who will be hiring you.

Champagne's points are good - I would also delete the 'innovative ideas' part - this may seem over confident. They want people who will work in the team and analyse data for practical and rational facts.  Not someone who wants to invent the next cure for cancer.

  3. It seems succinct. I do not think highlighting things in bold is a good strategy it will look messy and less clear.

  4. I think you should put the "Seeking a challenging and rewarding graduate position to demonstrate my abilities and determination to succeed." part first.  Also, when you say you want to provide solutions that are cost-effective and practical, you don't specify what kind of solutions.  Mechanical solutions?  Everyday problem solutions?  People solutions?

Also, I could change your last sentence to "Previous experience working as a Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemist.  The high standards kinda goes without saying when talking about pharmacies.

As far as the bolding part goes, I would just bold the parts you really want them to read.  If you want them to notice you are going for the Mechanical Design Engineering job, then bold it.

Other than that, it's really impressive!  I don't think you should have too much trouble finding a job with your experience.

  5. As long as you don't write it in green ink you'll be ok........
