CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare cards?

Can someone emplain to me how these things work? How much of a discount can I get with them? Can I use multiple cards at once?

from what i remember there are certain products on sale or discounted when they scan your card..pretty much like discounts at grocery stores when you scan their cards

when you purchase at the store, they scan your card. You need the card to get their "sale" price. At the end of your receipt you will get bonus coupons for dollars off your next purchase. I don't buy much there and I usually get $4 off my next $20 purchase.
