Hello

I have been offered one of these rifles for a good price but have never used a CZ and am looking for some advice about them especially in this calibre.

I would be interested to know if it would be more accurate than my Ruger Mini 30 and what would be its maximum range for informal target shooting.

Thanks

Midge.

  1. CZ makes a fine rifle, and that littel bolt gun will be MUCH more accurate than your mini 30

max range for informal target shooting is going to be limited by your abilities, the rifle won't be the weakpoint any more

  2. I own both the CZ 527 and the Ruger Mini 30 rifle..... Yes it is much more accurate than the Mini 30.... I'm not trying to say the Mini 30's a slug when it comes to accuracy but the CZ 527 is a more accurate choice.... Comparing the 2 is like comparing apples to oranges... Bolt action rifles like the CZ are generaly more accurate than auto loading carbines.....  The absolute maximum realistic reliable range to use any gun chambered in 7.62X39MM is 200 yards... The 7.62X39MM cartridge is similar to the old Winchester 30/30 cartridge.... Its up about 3 inches at 100 yards, flat at 150 yards and down 4 to 8 inches at 200 yards depending on what brand ammo your using.........   READ the below write ups on the CZ 527 in 7.62X39MM ------ If you can get it cheap GRAB IT!!! These are a fine rifle.......

  3. CZ firearms are excellent guns. It will be quite a bit more accurate than your more 30. And with a scope, 200 or 300 yards is not dreaming with a nice CZ 527 like that. I would take it.
