Which one of those would you get? The VZ 58 only looks like an AK in appearance but they both work differently. If you know about these guns, what is your opinion on the better choice? I checked out the VZ 58, it still had magazine wobble which i wasn't too thrilled about.

here is the VZ 58

  1. The CZ's are amazing rifles, but nothing quite compares to the robustness  of the AK-47. Not only is it one of the most recognizable and influential inventions in history (and quite a conversation piece), but it is the epitome of everything a firearm should be.

    Get the AK man!

  2. I prefer the Vz 58 for a couple of reasons, but that being said, I own several AKs.

The Vz 58 is an elegant design, in comparison to the AK. Typically, the fit and finish on the Czech rifle is better than all of the AKs with the exception of the Finn Valmets.  Like the AK, the Vz 58 is reliable, but unlike the AK, they seem to be much more accurate without tuning.

  3. I know its the "best" assault rifle ever... but "quality" is never a word that gets linked with AK's.

AK's are sheet metal. Kalishnikov wanted a rifle that could be fabricated by peasants using hand tools in basement shops if need be.

He did well... factory guns built on tooling are a consession to production speed.

both look like fun shooters... At least a machinist may have had a hand in the Cz..milled receiver!
