The homemade garlic juice remedy is not controlling them. I am afraid of dangerous pesticides. Any suggestions. I love broccoli but hate worms. I don't want to give up on broccoli but these worms are near impossible to remove everyone, I soaked in vinegar solution and salt water it doesn't matter the green hard to see worms are in the clusters tangled so they have to be picked and pulled out. So gross. I have no problems with spiders or snakesor any bugs like this but surely have a wormaphobia so it really bothers me. I love broccoli and want to eat it because its so healthy. I know they won't hurt me, but they discust me more than I can handle.

  1. From the Shades of Green Nursery, San Antonio, TX

"Caterpillars Trichogramma wasps (wasps must be released when caterpillars are in the egg stage (late February through June), BT (use sparingly to prevent damage to butterfly population), liquid Spinosad"

Here is the link to the web site:  http://www.shadesofgreensa.com

This nursery promotes organic control of pests.  BT is the abbreviation of bacterium that produces a toxin that kills only caterpillars.  You can find it and the other control methods at a good plant nursery.

  2. If you use a product containing Bacillus thurigiensis(BT for short) this will kill the worms and not make you or any other animal that may eat the worm ill. It is a bacteria that makes the worms sick to death. Available at a good nursery or garden center, many brands available, common one is Safer or Greenlight, but the most important thing is the ingredient, BT. Works great, organic and safe. Good Luck
