Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that star midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 last week.
Cabaye is set to undergo groin surgery, and will probably miss the remainder of this year sidelined. This latest setback deals a huge blow to Newcastle, who recently suffered their second successive home defeat in the Premier League as Swansea managed a
1-2 victory at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle have thus far failed to replicate last season’s immense form and have struggled to perform up to their usual standard. Despite managing a string of decent results and draws, they have been unconvincing in all areas of the pitch, particularly up
front.
The team has also been without most of its key players when the season started, and injuries and suspensions have had a detrimental effect on their performances.
However, most of Newcastle’s first team starters have returned to the team. Currently, only Ryan Taylor and Haris Vuckic are sidelined for the remainder of the season. This does leave Newcastle short in the midfielders department, and with Cabaye out injured
till next year, the club faces problems.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dan-Gosling-c9845 and James Perch are also on the treatment table after picking up minor injuries, and if they are unable to return by the weekend, Newcastle are left crippled in midfield.
The club is without a win this month, and the recent home defeat does not paint a pretty picture. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew is already under immense pressure to deliver, and the latest injury to Cabaye is probably the last thing the manager needed. Speaking to reporters,
he said:
“It could be we run all the way to the end of January before I have my first team to pick from. When Cabaye comes back, Cheick will be gone. It is a tough time for us at the moment.”
Pardew also revealed that Cabaye may require surgery, hence missing the remainder of this year. He added:
“Cabaye might possibly have to have a little surgery on that groin. You have a season when you lose players and you have to be able to cope with it. If I had everybody available then losing Cabaye would not be such a huge blow. At the minute, we cannot afford
to lose anybody.”
