Cabel Box splitter?

I have the digital cable channels and hbo on my living room tv in the cable box, is there anyway i can get it into my room?

do i need to purchase a seperate box and get a splitter?

you can use  a splitter but whatever channel your tv down stairs is going to be on your upstairs one will be on the same
