  1. I think that a dark brown would be very classy and modern. Espresso or cherry wood would look great! Good luck!!

  2. You have a much bigger job than you think. Those cabinets are either a plastic laminate or Formica clad particle board.Painting them is difficult, as paint doesn't stick well. The edges are open grained painted particle board.

That Electric range you have is a GE 27" drop-in range.I doubt you can get that size anymore (27").

  3. dark blue. i actually saw a kitchen with orange walls and dark blue cabinets. it looked super nice

  4. You could go with a deep red, red and black go together, and it would go with the orange you have on the walls.

The down side is what ever color you use there will be a lot of it so choose carefully.

Use a Formica primer base coat on the cupboards first this will give you a mechanical key for the top color to adhere to.

  5. black?

  6. I agress w/vinny...if that isn't wood, it's going to be a bear to paint.  You might consider working w/them as is, but update the hardware, add a tile, metallic or stone backsplash, and pick a color that works w/those cabinates to make them look more purpseful and part of the original plan, not somethong you couldn't afford to replace. Another option would be to replace just the cabinet fronts w/new doors panels; possibly framed glass panels, or framed tin or metalic.  Good luck.

  7. I am not much a designer...so  dont know if my opinion would help...I love the black look though. Black cabinets wiht like a greyish marble countertop. But yeah I can see why you want to get rid of those cabinets in tehre! : )
