Cable Modem Won't Connect?

to the internet. My boyfriend says he has little or no connectivity. It's a brand new modem. He doesn't know what to do?

unplug the router

leave it for 5 minutes or so

plug in the router

let it reset itself

reboot computer

make sure cables are in tight at both ends

make sure the network card is installed and working

my computer > properties > hardware > device manager

make sure no question marks or exclamation points beside network adapter or red x - it may be turned off

replace network cables

call the cable company

Check with your ISP. Or are you sure you connected it correctly?
