I've got a Polaroid DLM-3201 and a Motorola DCT-6412 III HD-DVR from Comcast. During the process of them trying to ping the receiver to activate its subscriptions properly, the receiver recycled itself and the tv powered off. Now, I can't do anything to get the TV back on. Is it possible that the TV was damaged by the HD-DVR? It's connected using YPrPb and stereo analog sound. I'm not faimliar with the standard voltage and current ratings of this connection.

  1. I would find it very unlikely that the DVR damaged the television.  That would require quite a catastrophic failure inside the DVR and would have most likely caused an equally catastrophic failure to your TV.  (by catastrophic, I'm talking smoke, sparks, and explosions)

Try disconnecting all inputs from the TV and see if it powers on.

  2. I do not believe that simply sending signals to the receiver would cause enough of a power surge to damage the television.  Have you tried self-testing it?  Most newer tele's have a self test, with no inputs plugged into the TV, try and turn it on.
