  1. Viewsat is to get over all thousand channel in over the world.

The scramble channel is no longer to read the card and the screen goes blank. To unscramble your channel, you need to connect the RS-232C from the satellite receiver to a USB port cable to a PC (laptop) computer or you enter the code on the satellite receiver using remote control. You need the code from the website. You can adjust the signal in the menu settings. To get the good signal, you can go to the website:

    http://www.lyngsat.com.

  2. Viewsat is a company that makes satellite tv receivers, which are designed for FTA or Free to Air tv.  There are many satellite tv channels which are absolutely free, and don't require a provider to receive.

Some people download illegal software onto these receivers to get paid channels for free, but keep in mind that the receivers are not designed to do this, it is illegal, and doing so will most likely void any warranty you have.

Viewsat just makes the receivers - they have no control over the satellite signals you pick up.

There are other FTA receiver manufacturers out there - namely Sonicview and Pansat.  Sonicview and Viewsat are considered the big two in the FTA industry, so you'll probably want to get something from one of them.

Do a google search on FTA receivers, and you'll find many dealers and websites with info.

    Good luck!
