Question:

Cable in living room with Comcast?

Hi, thanks for your time.

We have Comcast services and we have the DVR in our bedroom, but we just bought a TV for the living room and we want to keep the DVR box where it is and just get regular cable channels in the living room...so we want to know if we just have to plug the cable cord from the TV to the cable jack for this...I know they activated the cable jack in the bedroom and the office, but I don't know about the living room...if they didn't is there a way to make it work for regular able ourselves without having them come out for something so tedious? Thanks so much!

  1. The jack is most probably active. Just plug in the cable from the wall to the TV set.  You will get all the channels you subscribed to that your TV is capable of receiving without a converter box.

The DVR most likely acts as a converter for the bedroom TV.

Make sure you set your TV in the living room to the CATV or Cable position (It is accessed through the menu/setup function of the remote). Otherwise you may only get channels 2 - 13.

If the cable to the jack is not active, look at where the cable comes into the home and you will find a splitter and the cable lines to each room.  Just hook up the line to the splitter (If it is not hooked up)
