Question:

Cable or Satellite or something else?

Currently we have Cox Cable. They keep messing up our billing and claim we're overdue. Frankly, we're fed up with their poor level of service. We live in the Las Vegas area and I was wondering if we have any other options.

Realistically, how much would it be to switch to Direct TV or some other service once you factor in renting the equipment necessary/installation?

There's always hidden fees... I'm about ready to auction my TV on ebay.

  1. If you have never sub'd to DirecTV, you can do so with their cool startup plans.  There really isn't any hidden fees.

The receivers are included in the price, but you will have to pay $6 for each additional receiver per month.  $6 for DVR fees if you go with a DVR, and that is really about it.  Installation is free, and you can usually do up to 4 rooms with that installation, more rooms can cost more.

If you have only one receiver, there is no $6 fee for additional receivers, the $6 fee is only for additional receivers only.  Keep in mind that each TV will need its own receiver.  So if you have four rooms needing receivers, it would be the plan price plus $18.00.  Three rooms, plan price plus $12.00, etc.

Hope this helps!  The good thing is satellite blows away cable by a mile!
