Cable problem or tv?

Question

My boyfriend and I have cablevision in long island new york. Latley it seems that the sound goes in and out. Sometimes it stays off. Sometimes we can just change the chanel and it works. Today ive had to actually turn the box off and pull the power cord form the box to reset it to make it work. I asked my boyfriend that plays playstation 3 games on the same tv if he is haveing a problem with the sound when he plays and he says no. So Im thinking its a cable problem? What do you think? Please i need help its driving me nuts. Thanks

I would call up cablevision and tell them what is happening and have them come out and check on it. Also, do not tell them you are playing games on it . Not  because your not allowed to play games,  but what they may tell you is oh! that's why it is happening . Don't give them any reason to say its your fault . let them come out and check everything out and see what they say afterwords.

It would be a cable problem if on the same tv, games are played, and maybe even dvds can be watched without diruption. Usually in that case it would certainly be the cable.
