Satellite has more channels and a better picture.  Cable companies get there channels from satellite then run it through cables to your house.

In my area Dish Network is the best. I have had it for 4 years and love it. We get all kinds of channels and a bunch of HD channels. The only problem I ever have is when it snows for days at a time we loose signal a few times.99% of the time it works great.
