Question:

Cabo or Costa Rica in May?

Some friends and I have about a week off and we're looking at taking a trip to either Cabo or Costa Rica in late May. We were leaning towards Costa Rica but I think their rainy season begins in May and we're hoping to spend some time at the beach (we're not sure how "rainy" it actually gets there). We'll be leaving out of Phoenix so of course Cabo is quite a bit closer. Anyone been to either destination?

  1. Even though Costa Rica is a small country, it's large enough that weather patterns in the northwest of the country are different from the south and the Pacific coast from the Atlantic coast.

You don't say where in CR you're going, but generally speaking, late May is still relatively a good time to go to CR.

Cabo MAY be cheaper depending on what you do and where you stay.  (Like you said, it "is quite a bit closer.")

  2. Costa Rica is actally the most expensive contry in all central america, and weather in may might be disapointing if you were hoping for sunny beach party with a pink braslet for free drinks.

Costa Rica is all about true wildlife and intimate jungle experiencing. if you are not there for this, save your bucks and enjoy Cabo Coco.

  3. I have been to Cabo 3 times. It is a beautiful place and has alot to offer to adventerous types, along with a great nightlife. If you go to Cabo, I suggest you visit the Club Called Cabo Wabo (owned by Sammy Hagar.) It's an awsome place. The hotel accomodations are relatively cheap as well, We rented a 2 bedroom / living room / kitchenette for 45.00 a day.
