Question:

Caddie Tips?

I am going to be a caddie this year and I'd like some experienced caddie's advice. When a golfer tee's off, i find it hard to spot the ball in the air. What helps you see better...sky conditions, amount of shade, a certain distance, etc.?

  1. im not a caddie but i often wondered this myself

i found out that the best thing to do is stand just behind the golfers ball but behind the golfer

keep your eye on the ball

also if your stood away from the golfer just either look where you think the ball should go

    or

just keep your eye on the ball

    good luck

  2. always stand about six feet across from the golfer at first it hard but you learn to pick it up shade better than clear skys it get lost in the clouds

  3. First...make sure you wear sunglasses.  It'll protect your eyes from UV rays, plus make it easier.

Shameful tip that I did and worked; go to a driving range, and stand behind someone (far enough to not be in their way and line of sight or scare them), and work on following the flight of the ball.  Try following the ball from the tee.  Also, watch their swing because for high handicappers, that ugly c**p usually will foreshadow more ugly.

If you're working with another caddie in the group, help him and he'll help you.

The first couple holes are a bit of a lottery, but usually after 4 or 5 holes you should have something of an idea how your player hits the ball (slice, hook...duck and cover time...).
