Bradley Wiggins of Team Sky Procycling registered his overall victory at the race. He took a total time of 18 hours, 5 minutes and 40 seconds to receive the honours.
Andrew Talansky of Team Garmin-Barracuda finished 12 seconds behind at the second position while Rui Costa of Team Movistar occupied the third position.
Evans noted after the race, "It's been an interesting course – hard yet not selective".
"The hard climbs have been a little distance from the finish which allows groups to come back and were finishing in a not-so-small group every day and a lot of riders were on the same time".
"With a time trial like this, I was just guessing after I rode the course this morning, we'd have time gaps something like you'd have on an l'Alpe d'Huez time trial".
"So we had close racing all week and then we come to a selective time trial in the final [stage]".
He succeeded during the Tour de France 2011 and is eyeing the 2012 version of the race as the biggest goal of his season.
The 35-year-old is also eyeing the 2012 London Olympics and is desperate to find his winning ways to ensure his peak form ahead of the French event.
