Question:

Cafe latte - chocolate or no chocolate?

Hello foodies,

As far as I am concerned a latte should not have chocolate sprinkled on top of it yet more and more places in Ireland are putting it on. Chocolate is only for a Cappucinno surely?

What's the story am I right or wrong....any experts out there?

  1. leave the chocolate to the cappucinno.

  2. chocolate no matter what!

  3. chocolate.

  4. I agree, chocolate only on cappuccino.  Now who agrees that mocha's should have a little baileys in it?

  5. No. Chocolate is actually paired with coffee for a cafe mocha.

  6. There's always a place for chocolate!

  7. A latte is basically  a coffee with milk aka white coffee. Definitely no chocolate.  The only coffe that has chocolate, that I know of is the capuccino.

  8. Traditionally, probably not. Realistically, it's up to individual taste. Commercially, whatever sells!

  9. I completley agree with you. Chocolate sprinkles go on top of a cappucino, not a latte.

  10. Typically, a cafe latte is to have no chocolate, maybe sprinkled with a dash of cinnamon.  Lattes containing any chocolate are referred to as a Mocha latte here in America.  I used to work in a shop that served Cappucino and Lattes and that is the way we made them.  Hope that helps.

  11. Leave the chocolate sprinkles for Cappucinno, latte is yummy on its own no need for any sprinkles.
