Question:

Cafeteria food...yuck!!! Please help me!!?

The cafeteria food at my school is completely disgusting. Does anyone have some quick brown bag lunch ideas that I could try? I want something healthy but still yummy and creative because I don't want to be eating the same thing every day!!! It can't be refrigerated during the day either. I feel like my options are really limited, I just need something new!! Thanks!!

  1. if you can find it, my favorite was the old time swiegert summer sausage--no mayo  though  my mom liked to push the p-butter sandwiches but they got tiresome, so i had her add some sugar.  Now there may be a microwave you can use in the cafeteria so you can take microwave soups ect. that do not need refrigeration and stuff like that, an orange or some kind of fruit and stuff like that.


  2. For my son I pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, some type of chips or pretzels, an apple or banana, and a pack of cookies or Little Debbie Snack Cake. I change type of sandwich every week. If you get one of those flexible zip around lunch boxes you can put an ice pack  in it to keep your food cool. Sometimes I send yogurt or pudding as well. Today he had a Nutella Sandwich with Peanut Butter, Chips, Blackberry Yogurt and mini oreo cookies.

  3. just because you cant refrigerate it doesn't limit you, get some ice packs or freeze a couple bottles of water and use them to keep your lunch cold...

    veggie sticks, fruit, granola bars, yogurt, salads topped with chicken breast,turkey, ham, or boiled eggs

    sammys:

    banana and nuttela

    banana & peanut butter

    cream cheese and jam

    PB&J


  4. Peanut butter and celery. Ranch and carrots. Hope this gives you a little idea.

    You could also get a lunchbox and an icepack to keep things cool. Then you could have a wider selection of things to pick from.


  5. Make some Roll-Ups!

    Get your favorite lunch meat, Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef etc...

    Get a Flour Tortilla Shell!

    Put some Mayo or Ranch Dressing or any dressing you choose!

    Put your lunchmeat in it,

    Lettuce, Tomato, a little red onion etc...

    Roll it up and either slice it in some pinwheels or eat it as it is!

    You can also make some salads!

    If you are accessible to hot water, Make some oatmeal for lunch!

    You just don't have to eat that for Breakfast!

    Of course you know fruit and veggies are good for you also!

    A Nice fruit salad would be good also!

    There are many options but these are just a few!
