Caffeine in Coffee or Chai Ice Cream?

Does either Coffee or Chai ice creams contain any caffeine? I am asking because my little nieces and nephews devour this stuff by the kilo.

Both coffee and chai tea have caffeine naturally. To decaffeinate them is an extra step in their manufacture and it is also an extra expense. How likely is it that the ice cream manufacturer is sourcing a more expensive flavouring for the ice cream? Not very likely.

How much caffeine is the consumer ingesting when they eat the product? Not very much. They get much more caffeine out of a glass of cola. The children are getting a bigger buzz out of the sugar in the ice cream than out of the caffeine.

Now, where's my ice cream?

Not really sure. I'd suggest calling the manufacturer. Most sweets use a coffee extract or flavoring,so I'd say no. But still best to phone and ask.

Yes. Since the ingredients have caffeine, the coffee will also contain caffeine.

Depends on the manufacturer . . . some may leave the caffeine in, others may use decaf.
