Question:

Cages for a syrian hamster?

I have a 7 month old syrian hamster and she has a wire cage. It's kinda boring since it only has her wooden house, a wheel, food, chew blocks, and a wooden ball. What types of cages are good for this type of hamster? Can they fit in those colourful tubes, or will the get stuck? If you can, can you give me links on perfect cages from Petsmart or Petcetera? Thanks!!=)

  1. I have used a crittertrail cage for my hamster all its life. It will be able to fit in the tubes, it may not look like it but hamsters can fit into anything their head can fit into. The only problems about the crittertrail cages is that they can be time consuming to clean and difficult to put together sometimes. I recomend crittertail 3. It has a wheel and 5 levels for your hamster to crawl on. I wouldn't get anything smaller than that.

  2. i use rotastak caging for my gerbils which i also used for my hamsters, its great because they can have different levels and lots of things to do in them, but yes they are time consuming when it comes to cleaning the cage.

hope you manage to find the right cage for your hamster
