Cagliari announce Roberto Donadoni sacking, Massimo Ficcadenti tipped to takeover: Serie A news
Serie A outfit, Cagliari, have confirmed the sacking of club manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Donadoni, just two weeks before the start of the 2011/12 season.
Reports in the Italian media circulated few days back that the former Napoli manager’s relations with the club President, Massimo Cellino, have deteriorated over the lack of finances given to spend this summer. The news was confirmed
on the official website of the club following Cagliari’s 5-1 pre-season win over lower tier side, Arzachena.
Along with Donadoni, three of his coaching staff have also suffered the chop and the club have wished them luck for the future.
A statement on club’s official website read, “Cagliari Calcio announce Coach Roberto Donadoni and his staff, Luca Gotti, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giovanni-c14985 Andreini and Paolo De Toffol, have been removed from their posts. The club thanks them for their
work done so far and wishes them the best for the future of their careers.”
The 47-year-old replaced Pierpaolo Bisoli as the Cagliari head coach in November 2010 and did extremely well to take the team out of relegation. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 boss was discontent with some of the decisions made by the club President
and wanted more authority at the club.

Former Cesena manager, Massimo Ficcadenti, is widely tipped to take-over the managerial http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Stadio Sant’Elia in the next few days. Ficcadenti was released by Cesena after the 2010/11 season.
The former Italian international will not face a difficulty in finding a new club, as host of Italian and Russian clubs were interested in his signature last season. Donadoni has also managed the Italian National team from 2006-2008
but the team had their worst record for several years under his management. After being sacked as the Italian boss, the former A.C Milan striker was appointed as the Head Coach of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in 2009.
