Cagliari ask http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Suazo-c10611 to leave the club
Cagliari Director General, Francesco Marroccu, has told striker, David Suazo that he should leave the club, as he is not in his plans for the upcoming 2011/12 season.
Suazo was supposed to join http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Donadoni’s squad in the next few days and was training with the rest of the squad for the past few weeks. However, suddenly Marroccu told the striker that he must find a new team for himself.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan striker added that he trusted the club by signing a blank contract because he wanted to become
an important player for them. He is planning to hold talks with the club President, Massimo Cellino, before leaving the Rossoblu outfit.
Talking to the reporters Suazo said, “Director General Francesco Marroccu told me that I have to leave the squad and that is what I am doing. I’ll now try to contact the President because I want to know the reasons behind why this
decision was taken.”
“I’ve spent 20 days with the team and I had clarified a few points with regard to my contract. On Saturday I signed a blank contract to make my intentions clear. I wanted to be an important player for Cagliari again. I don’t know what to think.”
The 31-year-old was expected to make his return to the Stadio Sant’Elia after a hugely successful first stint with the club. Suazo spent 8 successful years at Cagliari from 1999-2007 before leaving the club to join Inter Milan.
The striker scored 102 goals in 276 matches for the Cagliari.
The Honduran had a very unsettling time after leaving Cagliari and could not establish himself as an important member of the Nerazzurri squad. The forward has spent his last two years on-loan with Benfica and Genoa respectively
and is now a free agent after his contract with Inter expired this summer.
The striker has been a linked with a move to Serie A newcomers, Atlanta, and he is expected to hold talks with them after the Cagliari snub.
