Earlier, Australia and Oman were also in the same group in the previous stage of the qualifiers.  
The Evertonian player, who has capped 53 international appearances for his country, indicated that he expected the game to be on the slower side and his team will face a laborious task of breaking down the defence of the Gulf outfit.
Both the teams last met in November at Muscat, in which Oman stunned the Socceroos by eking out a 1-0 victory.
Cahill told the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043’s official website, “Over 95 minutes it's going to be important that we keep our heads. We're going to have to be quite tactical and clever but at the same time, Holger (Osieck) has his ways of breaking teams down and we've got a
decent squad so hopefully we can do it.”
Cahill, who will make his first international appearance since September, also opined that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Australia-c746 needs to keep a cool head and should not rush into the game by putting up extra effort in the opening stages.
Speaking of the tough weather conditions at Oman, the midfielder revealed that he had already accustomed himself to the soaring heat of the region, and was currently enjoying the hot weather as he is used to the freezing temperatures at England.
He remarked, “I'm embracing the hot weather. I play in a pretty cold climate (in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749) so I'm enjoying it. If you can play in this weather you can play in anything.”
After their game against Oman, Australia will take on Japan at home on 12th of June in a bid to avenge their Asian Cup final defeat in 2011 against the Blue Samurai. Later on in September, they will go head to head against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-c2929 and will play
their final World Cup qualifying match of the year against Iraq in October.
