Chelsea’s defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 has admitted that he is more than happy with the draw that his side picked up against Arsenal and feels that it will only help the team improve in the future.
The Blues took on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 on Saturday, in a game that both the teams needed to win, in order to give their end of the season run a massive boost.
However, with both the clubs looking to wait for the other to make a mistake in the game, the match ended with neither team getting the better of their opponents and ended in a draw.
Chelsea did manage to make a number of substitutions going into the game, in order to keep their squad fresh for the upcoming game against Barcelona, but those changes failed to make any significant impact on the game.
When talking about the result and just how it worked out for Chelsea, Cahill is quoted to have said: "It was a good result. Any time you come here and get some points, I think you have to take the positives out of it. It was a good point for us"
"The Barcelona game has been well-documented, obviously, and we had an early kick-off today, so that was tough.”
"I think the manager has used the squad well. He's rotated the team and tried to keep everyone fresh and it's working really well for us at the moment."
The defender then went on to admit that it was only fair for both the teams to draw, since neither side really deserved to win the game, given their rather tame display in the game.
He added: "It was cagey. Both defences were tight. As I said, both teams' final ball was maybe lacking but I think it's a good result.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 now need to try and win all their remaining games, if they are to break back into the top four.
At the same time, the team needs to refine their tactics before they take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the Champions League, given the fact that a win against the Catalans would see them make the finals of the tournament.
