Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng start their campaign successfully in the 2011 Japan Open Super Series
China’s Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng started their campaign in style when they crushed Chen Hung Lin and Lin Yu Lang of Chinese Taipei in the Men’s Doubles first round of the 2011 Japan Open Super Series, at Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday, September 21.
The World Number One Cai and Fu played with great touch of aggression along with precision and emerged as successful against the Hung Ling and Yu Lang who are placed at number 19 in the Men’s Doubles world rankings.
The Chinese shuttlers were a class above to their opponents as they played flawless badminton and remained dominant throughout the match. They finished this first-round battle in straight games by spending just 24 minutes in the court.
The start of the match was thrilling when both pairs displayed wonderful show of attacking game by executing jumping smashes coupled with incredible net killings. However, as the match progressed, the higher ranked Chinese pair took control of the game in
their hands and started to dictate the pace of the game with a wonderful ease. They reached at 11-6 in a flash without facing any resistance from the Taipei duo.
After the interval, the match progressed in the similar fashion as Cai and Fu remained in complete control of the rallies. They kept the pace at the maximum level which helped them in maintaining pressure over their opponents in the whole set and they finished
up the game in a remarkable fashion by a 21-13 margin in just 10 minutes.
Hung Ling and Yu Lang opened the second game with a different strategy as they started to move fast at the net which helped them in pushing their higher ranked opponents on the back foot for a few points. However, the experienced Chinese duo accelerated
their speed and played parallel badminton and gradually started to dominate.
Cai and Fu played positive badminton with a wonderful finishing touch in their shots. They won the second game with a decent score of 21-16 in just 14 minutes. The overall score of this Men’s Doubles first-round fight was 21-13 and 21-16.
