Yes, there a few different species of caimans: spectacled, Cuvier's dwarf, black, smooth front, and Yacare. The smallest is the Cuvier's dwarf caiman (Paleosuchus palpebrosus). Females grow 3 1/2 feet long and males grow 4 to 5 feet in length. These are the smallest crocodilian in the world. But that doesn't make them good pets. I had one for many years. It now has its own pond on a friend's land. They can be aggressive and dangerous. They are a very advanced pet, and many places have laws prohibiting them.
