Cairns Accomodation?

hey I am going to cairns with my mother we want to stay in a hotel or an apartment can you recommend somewhere very near the town and also where to stay in airlie beach thanks

Airlie beach is very very touristy, it is like a backpackers holiday camp, but still good :)

Mission beach just south of Cairns is a much better option. Is very relaxed and you can visit the barrier reef from their and some tropical islands, theirs also tours into the rain forrest. I saw a cassowary on one of my little walks :) Yay :)

Trinity Beach is very popular to stay in Cairns - not far from the city itself.

We stayed in the Bella Aqua Apartments at Palm Cove in Cairns whilst on holiday in Australia last year and they were just beautiful, right on the beach and chic.
