Caius shadow monarch effect how does it really work against traps that activate when its summoned?

when cauis is summoned and it targets a face down trap card ( torrential tribute or trap hole /bottomless. does cauis effect destroy the trap first and cauis stays on the field or does it create a chain and cauis is destroyed ??

It creates a chain, I summon Caius the Shadow Monarch and select your face down card. You play that face down Bottomless Trap Hole and chain it. Bottomless Trap Hole then resolves removing Caius from play, and then Caius removes the Trap card from play.

Therefore, if there is a card that remove/destroy Caius then, Caius will be removed/destroyed as it doesn't negate the effect of the card, it only removes the card instead.

Negate and Remove are two separate things. Hope it helped. :]

no so if you summon it and you remove bottomless trap hole they can activate it then they will both be removed from play
