Last question about this cake recipe I promise! :-)

When making the cake, when do I add the vegetable oil?

Do i mix it in when creaming butter and sugar?

Add it to beaten eggs?

Add it into the flour mixture?

Add it in stages between mixing the flour, eggs and milk etc?

Or just mix it once it all together?

As you've probably guessed, I've never baked a cake before!!

Thanks!

  1. I just combine all ingredients at once it it is a box mix.

  2. Not positive without your recipe, but looking at the ingredients you listed...I  would combine the oil with the eggs, they mix together well.

Many recipes have you cream the butter and sugar, and add the dry ingredients 1/3 at a time alternating with 1/3 of the wet (eggs, milk, vanilla) ingredients.

  3. Do you have a recipe? It should tell you. If you are making a cake mix just put it in according to directions.

  4. you really need the recipe to make sure it's correct I don't want to tell you wrong

  5. put all the dry ingredients together,  then put all the wet or moist ingredients together.  after you cream the butter and sugar, then add the eggs and oil at the same time...
