Cal Crutchlow loses his little finger-tip – MotoGP news
The final preseason test ended last Monday night, also ending the winter testing session of mid season, but leaving Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha Tech3 in pain after he had a serious accident on turn10.
Crutchlow was caught in a complex situation in turn 10 where he first lost his rear end then after shutting down the throttle he lost the traction at front end resulting him, to fall down.

The Brit’s left hand was caught under the handle bar and could not release from underneath, which caused him to shred off his finger tip of his little finger of left hand. However, the injury did not require any surgery. Having severe pain Crutchlow
is still optimistic to have a good start at the first Grand Prix of the season this weekend at Losail circuit at Qatar.
“I've basically just worn away the edge of my finger, taken my nail off and wore it down to the bone,” Crutchlow explained. “It was quite gruesome to be honest - the whole of the glove came open and I just wore away the little finger. But it's only
the 'stubby' so you don't have to use it that much.”
He concluded his test session at 15th place after completing 28 laps on second night. Due to the accident Crutchlow he missed about three crucial hours of testing at the last night of final test session, still hopes to look forward to
debut as Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider and feels esteemed to line-up on the grid with potential rivals.
“The test certainly didn't end how I wanted and it is a real shame because we had made some changes to the balance of the bike that really helped my confidence with the front-end tonight. But I made a silly little mistake at Turn 10,” began Crutchlow
Crutchlow felt disappointed after the crash that he could not continue with the testing after 9pm incident. It caused after he was medicated and had a numbing injection to reduce the pain, in affect he was feeling numbness in his hand which was dangerous
to hit back on track. The Brit needs to have rest as the hand lost plenty of blood, in order to get ready for the coming race this weekend.
“We made quite a big step with the bike as well, so I'm disappointed,” said Crutchlow. “We were on old tires and the lap before I'd just got my fastest lap - on old tires and with the wind, it bettered yesterday's time.”
The last final test was although dominated by the Repsol Honda duo, Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa, the RC212V was covering the four positions in top-five places. But the M1 was next fastest machine after the Honda RC212V.
