Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha Tech3 satisfied with test laps at Brno Circuit – MotoGP news
Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha Tech3 is pleased with his test results at Brno.
He registered his fastest lap at the test session in 1 minute and 56.461 seconds, as the leader of the test session.
The British rider said that it was a good test and he is pleased with his times. He added that they did the whole morning and the first run in the afternoon with the same rear tyre. Besides, he said that they tried some different settings with their bike
but it was not fruitful.
Crutchlow said that they did some considerable modifications but the lap times remained same. He added that he tried hard compound tyre during the practice sessions of Brno but was having problems with it, but during the test he was able to achieve good
speed along with consistency. Furthermore, he said that this leaves them uncertain as they are not getting their desired results.
He said, “I did a 56.9 on it, which is basically as fast as my race pace and it had 44 laps on it. We tried some different settings but the only problem I have with this bike now is we make some big changes but the lap time is the same, so you never know
which direction to go in.”
Furthermore, he said that they can leave Brno happily because it was a great weekend for them. He signed a new contract, got his best grid position, attained the first ever podium in his MotoGP career and then set the fastest time at the Brno test. He added
that he is confident that they will be fighting among the top riders at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix.
“In practice for the race on Friday I struggled with the hard tyre but today I tested it again and I was lot faster and consistent as well, so that was a big positive,” he said.
Cal Crutchlow has signed a new contract with Monster Yamaha tech3for two years starting from 2013. He was able to achieve the first ever podium of his MotoGP career in the last Brno Grand Prix. Let’s see how he performs in the upcoming Italian GP scheduled
