Cal Crutchlow satisfied with his fourth position in the Spanish Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha Tech3 enjoys his 4th position in the Spanish Grand Prix at the Aragon circuit.
He had a close fight for the podium with his teammate Andrea Dovizioso in the last two laps of the race.
The British rider told that it would be more enjoying if he had been able to make it to the podium but he is satisfied with his 4th position because his teammate gave an impressive performance over the circuit and adds to his confidence. He added that he
tried very hard to attain 3rd position but Dovizioso had better exit speed on corners.
Crutchlow said, “Obviously it would have been great to be back on the podium after the disappointment of Misano but credit to Andrea because he did a great job as always and I'm taking nothing away from him. I did my best in those last two laps to take third
but I knew he had a little better exit speed than me coming out of Turn 15 and that's how it turned out.”
In addition, he said that his achievement of attaining a fourth position leaves him delighted because in the last season he used to fight for the top ten positions in the race but now he fights for the podium. He told that his victory has added some championship
points and this leaves him confident for the next Japanese Grand Prix. He anticipates that he will enjoy some more battles with his teammate.
“I can go into the last four races with a lot of confidence and hopefully enjoy some more good battles with Andrea,” he added.
The Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider anticipates that he will be able to edge his teammate in the remainder of the season. He started his career last year and had been unable to attain any podium in the last 2011 season however in the current season he made it
to his first podium at the Czech Republic Grand Prix.
He was confident that he will be able to attain another podium in the Italian Grand Prix but he had to face an unfortunate crash however in the very next Aragon Grand Prix he made it to the fourth position.
Let’s see how the young rider performs in the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix.
