Cal Crutchlow says he will be pleased if they reduce championship gap at Misano – MotoGP news
Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha Tech3 wants to challenge the top runners and believes that they will be aiming for the same in the remainder of the season.
He anticipates there is no reason that they will not be able to make it to the podium at the Misano circuit.
The British rider confident is confident of attaining at least a 3rd podium finish, yet he believes that the remainder of the season will be further challenging. He believes that the first podium of his career will prove to be an ice-breaker and
he would be able to attain more podiums in the remainder of the season.
Crutchlow said, “Going into the last quarter of the season’s going to be tough. I’m looking forward to continuing the rest of the year. Now we’ve got the monkey off the back with the podium, hopefully we’ll be up there challenging from now on.”
At the Czech Grand Prix, they made it to the podium with a gap of 12.343 seconds from the winner of the race, Dani Pedrosa. He wants to further reduce the gap from the winner at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix. He added that they are a strong contender for
the podium fights now and anticipates that they will be able to make it to the podium at the Italian circuit, as well.
“If we can reduce the gap a little bit I’d be pleased. Coming into Misano as a strong contender for podium fights now, there’s no reason we can’t be up there,” he said.
Crutchlow started his MotoGP career last year and he had been unable to make it to the podium until now, however he was able to make it among the top five riders in 7 of the 12 races he has started in the current 2012 season. He has 122 championship points
and holds 5th position with 6 races remaining in the current season.
Let’s see how the British rider performs at the upcoming Italian GP and whether he will be able to make it to the podium once again or not.
