Cal Crutchlow wants convincing performance at Aragon to regain his confidence – MotoGP news
Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha Tech3 intends to regain his confidence by winning the Spanish Grand Prix.
He told that he will only be considering his strengths for the last Italian race and will forget about the unfortunate incident.
The Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider crashed 23 laps prior to the finish line in the Italian Grand Prix. He had anticipated making it to the podium in the Italian GP but unfortunately he retired. He believes that there could have been nothing worse than the Italian
GP but he will only be considering positives from the previous race which includes his enthusiasm to make it on the podium.
He said, “I don’t think Misano could have gone any worse. The next race will be crucial. If I do well here we’ll head into the next races [triple header] with confidence. We’re trying to take positives from the last race.”
Furthermore, he said that he feels the Aragon Grand Prix to be difficult for him because of the variations in the circuit. He told that he wanted to do a practice session at the Spanish circuit but he could not go there when Repsol Honda and Yamaha Factory
Racing carried out a private test session.
“It seems a difficult circuit for me, I don’t know why. I could have done with a test here, but we were unable to come [when the Yamaha and Honda factories tested here],” he added.
Crutchlow gave impressive performance at the Czech Republic Grand Prix by finishing at the 3rd position. The 3rd position at the Brno circuit left him enthusiastic for another podium because it was the first podium of his MotoGP career. He stared his MotoGP
career in the last 2011 season. He made it to the finish line with a gap of 12.343 second from the winner of the race Dani Pedrosa.
The British rider faced a lot of grip issues on the Italian circuit and further told that he had some problems with the clutch as well. It will be interesting to see his performance at the Aragon circuit because Valentino Rossi of Ducati will also be re-testing
his modifications which helped him in attaining 2nd position at his home circuit.
