What's the different between FAFSA and cal grant? The cal grant listed my family income $48000 instead of $24000. I'm not sure happened but I tried to fix it in FAFSA. Do I have to contact the cal grant site to correct it?

How do I check how many money I'm getting from FAFSA?

  1. You're not "getting" money from FAFSA - FAFSA is just an application form for financial aid.

The information that you provided on your FAFSA is analyzed and sent to the financial aid office at your school. They will review your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) code, and use that to determine what forms of financial aid you are eligible for.

When the financial aid office has completed this review, they will send you a financial aid offer letter, showing you what forms of aid you are qualified to receive, and the amounts that you are being offered for each form. You are then free to accept any, all, or none of the aid that you are offered. Different schools have different notification procedures, so you will need to check the financial aid procedures at your school.

Your CAL Grant eligibility should be based on the information that you provided on the FAFSA form. However, the CAL Grant program is complex - if you have any questions about how to interpret your California Aid Report (CAR), you can call the student help line at: (888) CA GRANT (888-224-7268)

I hope that helped. Good luck to you!
