During class today one of my friends said that there was a guy who invented a calander that saved us a week every 1000 and something years but he didn't know who it was why it wasn't used and ect. The teacher asked us to try and find out who this person was.

  1. At the top of this page is a Search____Web Search box.  Just move the cursor there and enter your keyword, which, BTW is spelled "calendar."  Then follow the links.  You may have to follow several.  Some other words to try are "Julian" and Gregorian."

The tracking of time is a fascinating story (for me, at least).  We take for granted that seven days make a week, but what time really is and how we keep it is truly an epic tale.
