  1. No, calcium in general will not increase your height.  There isn't anything that will do that except good genetics.

Milk is actually a very very poor choice as a food in general, especially for calcium.  (For more info on that if you wish, go to www.notmilk.com)  Yet another soap box for another day.

The best source of calcium are green, leafy foods such as Swiss Chard, Kale, Spinich, etc.  The calcium in them is easily absorbed and digested by the human body, unlike milk which is not.

If you have a poor diet I suggest you start taking a good multi vitamin from a health food store.  Be aware however that no amount of pills will replace a diet with lots of variety.  Its obvious you're aware that you had a bad diet, so try and change your habits.  Begin with just one meal a day, (or even a week! Just try for some change) and try new foods cooked in different ways.  Most people assume that they hate broccoli until they have it cooked a different way.  So be creative and try something new!

  2. Insufficient calcium can stunt your growth.

Good sources of calcium are tinned fish such as tinned sardines, tinned salmon and others as the very soft bones in the tin are full of calcium and crumble up when you eat them with the fish.

Almonds and hazel nuts are rich in calcium as well.  Other nuts contain a bit of calcium but not as much.

Sesame seeds are also rich in calcium and there is also a bit in bread but not a lot.

Tinned fish would probably be the best as it also contains plenty of complete protein.

    Calcium tablets are another option.

  3. Whenever you are trying to lose weight, you should concentrate on these three things which all work together in providing a healthier and quicker weight loss goal for yourself. I have found this combination really successful in my weight loss plans. The first thing is exercising and how much you can put forth into it. The more you exercise, the more results you will see. The next thing is dieting and the calorie intake. If you exercise more, technically you could eat more? Always watch what you eat.

Now the last step in a good weight loss plan is always a good diet pill that can help you get to the end of the road. I have found Proactol which is a natural herbal diet pill to be the best around. It's an appetite suppressant along with being a fat blocker which stops up to 28% of fat you eat. Read up about it at TheWeightLossPlace .com where I saved money on it. Proactol really works well with exercising which gives you plenty of energy to perform. Along with that your diet will be affected by Proactol due to the appetite suppressant and fat blocker. If you slip up on meals, the fat blocker kicks in. It's really great to stop food cravings.

Concentrate on those three things and the combination is deadly for the fat cells in your body. Good luck and I hope this helps.

  4. Ingesting Calcium won't specifically "make you grow" (meaning it's not a growth pill), but it will give your body the nutrition it needs to grow healthy bones. In other words, you should have some Calcium intake to make sure your bones can grow healthy. If you don't have sufficient Calcium intake while you're growing, you could end up with brittle bones later in life.

However, depending on your age (I assume you're young since you're talking about growing), you'll probably want to find a Calcium product that's designed for your age (there are only a few Calciums that are children's doses). If you are 18 or over, any Calcium should be good in general, but try to make sure it has at least some Vitamin D and/or Magnesium/Boron to help your body absorb it into your bones.

Also, most multivitamins don't have a sufficient amount of Calcium (because they assume you've got an alternate source and people don't like seeing 3-6 pills per day on a multi), so if you're taking a multi, check the ingredients. An adult human can only absorb up to 600 mg of Calcium at any given point in time, so the doses should always be spread out between different doses.
