Good luck with your homework. You should include a picture when you refer to points so people can understand your meanint.  Tension is to pull.  Maybe that's T.  E might be effort which would be the resultant force. Velocity cannot be calculated without time.  The mechanical advantage is the ration of force applied to resultant force.

Pay attention in class. Newtons laws are pretty cool if you understand them.

I'll give you a hint...the purpose of the pulley is to reduce effort. Without discussing friction values...assume it reduces effort by 50%.

Given equal tension, the item on one side of the pully will move at the same speed as the pull on the other...thus velocity ratio is 1:1.

If you're not familiar with Sailboat rigging then picture a clothes line with pulleys...well actually pretend you're installing it... you are at the house holding 2 lines that that run through a pulley on a pole some distance away...now think.
