  1. a) mass is 1.0kg in both cases, so 1 : 1

    b) volume: volume is inverse of density for equal mass, so given the density in part c), volume ratio is 1: 6558, iron to air.

    c) density: iron 7.87 g/cm^3; air 1.20 kg/m^3 = 0.0012 g/cm^3

    so approximately 6558 : 1, iron to air
