1/4 + 3/40

Now to add, we need to find the LCD, here it's 40:

10/40 + 3/40

13/40

(3/8 / (1 7/8)) - 1/6

First, I'll change that fraction to a form that's more friendly:

(3/8) / (15/8) - 1/6

To divide fractions, multiply by the reciprocal:

(3/8 * 8/15) - 1/6

8's cancel out, and 3's cancel out, leaving:

1/5 - 1/6

now find the LCD, here it's 30:

6/30 - 5/30

1/30
