  1. Simple. Divide 392 by 23 to get how many gallons you used. Then multiply the number of gallons by $3.22 to get the total cost. This is for one way. Then simply double your answer value to get the cost going both ways. 392/23=17.04-about 17 gallons. 17X3.22=$54.86. About 17 gallons and the cost is $54.74 for one way. Double this for both ways and the amount of gallons is 17.04 x 2 = 34. and doubling the cost of $54.86x 2 =$109.72

  2. 392 miles divided by 23 = 17.04 gallons of fuel required for trip.

    Total gas price @ 3.22 = $54.87

    If 392 is per direction, than X 2 = $109.74

  3. It will cost about $54.90

  4. (392) miles divided by (23) miles per gallon is approx 17 so that would mean 17 gallons needed, multiply this by gallon price (in your case $3.22) and you get about 55.

so $55 there, $110 with return.

  5. 392/23= around 17 so we will go 18 for safty 18*3.22= $57.96

  6. divide 392 by 23 and get about 161  then multiply 161 by $3.22 and you get $518.42   good luck paying for that!

  7. Roughly $57 dollars for the 392 miles

Take the distance divided by the miles per gallon to get the total number of gallons needed.

Multiply that by the cost of a gallon of fuel

    392 / 23=  17.05

    17.05 X $3.22 =  $56.35

  8. $54.88 in gas money if 392 miles is round trip 109.76 if 392 miles is one way

  9. it'll take 17 gals at 54.90 dollars one way

  10. Any story question like this just take the numbers in order...

First, 392 miles is simply given.

    Next, 23 miles per gallon.

With these two numbers, the first thing to figure is number of gallons...  392 divide (miles PER gallon) by 23 = 17.04 gallons needed.

    Good!  You're almost finished...

17.04 gallons needed times $3.22 price of gallon = $54.88 for the trip described...

Double that if you need round trip numbers.

Also, if this is real life - give yourself some extra...

Gas can go up $0.15 overnight!  and $3.22 per gallon really means $3.229, mileage won't be 23 if you have to start and stop, etc.

  11. $55 one way $110 Round trip
