If dyeing t shirts at 140 degrees in water, they must hold the temperature for 180 minutes as part of the dyeing of t shirts process......So, now they will be dyeing t shirts with the Protura yarns at 100 degrees for 90 minutes, now we must calculate the energy saving of btu we have saved?

  1. you are missing a lot of information.

    What you use to heat the vats. How big they are, how much liquid they hold. How well insulated they are, room temperature, heat loss around the sides of the vats, etc.

    Best way to do this is to measure the energy use using both processes, either with a wattmeter if the heat is electric, or by measuring the gas used if it is a gas burner.

    Or look at your gas or electric bill for a month using each process.
