Calculator HELP please?

How do you get the function above the button to work? I want to use a square root, but that's written above the button that reads "x2". How do I use the function above? Is there a button I press before hand to get that second option?

Sounds like your using a TI-83 or something like that.

Use the 2nd key... Press 2nd then the x2 button and you will get square root.

should be a "2nd" key , press that and then the top thing will work
