Calculus AB Subscore?

Does the subscore count just like a regular AP test as far as college credit goes? I got a 4 on the AB test, and I'd like to take the BC exam next year and get a 5. Would this also count as a replacement 5 for the 4 that I got on the AB test or does the subscore only tell you how you did on the AB portion for your own information?

okay...here is the deal

the AB subscore counts ON ITS OWN as an AP test, and therefore is a completely different test.  if you choose to retake the BC test, then you will also get a new AB subset score.  if you get 5s on both the AB and BC parts of the test, you can have them replace the old scores on your report.
