Calculus Limits Help Please! ?

I need help finding the limit to this question but the way its written has me stumped. I think there's something to do with conjugate but I'm not sure.

Find the limit of x as it approaches 4.

k2 - 16 / √k - 2

  1. x^2 - 16 = (x-4)(x+4) = (√x -2)(√x +2)(x+4)

    so lim x-->4 (x^2 -16)/(√x -2) = lim x-->4 (√x +2)(x+4) = (√4 +2)(4+4)

    =(4)(8) =32.


  2. whenever you find limits, you want to approach it from both the left side, and the right side.  Only if you approach the same answer, does your answer stands...

    sometimes one answer approaching from one side will be way different than the other.

    but I get 9
