Caleb Paine continues his lead over Finn class of 2012 Delta Lloyd Regatta – Sailing News
Third day of the 2012 Delta Lloyd Regatta was an outstanding finish for the American Finn sailor, Caleb Paine as he cruised into the leading podium spot of the Finn fleet standings.
On the fourth day of the regatta, the US sailor continued his dominance over the fleet with 27 points after participating in nine races, which also includes a discarded race.
The weather conditions on the fourth day of the regatta were not so supportive, as the breeze filled in the racing area a bit late which made the fleet wait for a while. However, the participants were able to complete one race to formulate the updated results.
The fourth day racing was dominated by Nederland’s Pieterjan Postma as he hit the bullet in the ninth race. However, despite his impressive performance in the race, he was unable to make it to the top three podium places.
Meanwhile, the US sailor, Paine, managed to stay on the top with 27 points after finishing sixth in the fourth day proceedings. The American is now aiming to make an appearance in the upcoming 2012 London Olympics with his impressive performance.
