Caledonia Prince looking to dominate the Free Casino Betting With Freebetting.co.uk Handicap at Southwell
Southwell will be hosting the 1 mile Free Casino Betting With Freebetting.co.uk Handicap on 27th March, 2012 where eleven runners will be competing for £1,704. In this line-up, Caledonia Prince looks like the toughest competitor.
The son of Needwood Blade, out of mare Granuaile O’Malley will be competing against Moheebb, Mataajir, Dunseverick, General Tufto, Community, Takhreej, Loyal N Trusted, Funky Munky, Bring Sweets, and Myraid.
Caledonia Prince is trained by Jo Hughes for owners Isla and Colin Cage, and has been showing steady progression since last season. Going back to the beginning of the season, the four-year-old bay gelding bagged a victory in the Bet On Winning Distances
At Bluesq.com Handicap at Southwell on 10th February, 2012, where he raced as favourite with the odds of 5 to 2. Under Josh Baudains, he defeated, Putin, by a considerable distance of 4 ½ lengths.
He stood third in his most recent race, the Cheltenham Festival Free Bets With Freebetting.co.uk Handicap at the same track on 14th March, 2012. He was the race favourite, but fell short of victory by 2 ½ lengths, which was
acquired by Copperwood.
Caledonia Prince is expected to perform well in this race based on his familiarity with the track. He raced here this season, and the familiarity will definitely work in his favour. In this race, he will be teamed with jockey Joe Fanning, who will
be riding him for the first time this season.
Mataajir, trained by Derek Shaw for owner Brian Johnson, may excel on this track. The son of Redoute’s Choice, out of Hamasah, has competed at Southwell twice and won both times.
The four-year-old gelding succeeded over, Only Ten Per Cent, by a narrow distance of 1 ¼ lengths in the Alf Parkin Is 80 Handicap on 10th December, 2011. Mounted by Luke Morris, he maintained his composure throughout. He stayed
on strong in the final furlong, and led in the last 100 yards.
He triumphed in his seasonal debut by defeating, Spacecraft, by 2 ½ lengths in the Bet At Bluesq.com Handicap on 1st January, 2012. He entered as a favourite with the odds of 11 to 10, and acquired the victory, starting off
his season in a terrific manner. With two victories at this track, things are looking up in his favour for this race, as he has shown promise before.
General Tufto has a certain benefit over the other runners in this race. He competed at Southwell in his last six races, which goes in his advantage. Along with that, the seven-year-old gelding has more experience than the other runners.
Trained by Charles Smith, the son of Fantastic Light, out of Miss Pinkerton, won his seasonal debut, as he defeated, Arkaim, by ¾ of a length in the Follow Us On Facebook Handicap on 8th January, 2012.
It looks like Caledonia Prince will emerge victorious, but he might have to shake off Mataajir, who looks in good form as well. General Tufto may finish third if he brings his best game forward.
