Caledonian Brae and Farley Ninja to battle it out in the Grade OR Bettor.com Scottish Derby 2012 Trial Stake DIV B
Entering with odds of 5 to 2, it looks like Farley Ninja will prevail in the Grade OR Bettor.com Scottish Derby 2012 Trial Stake DIV B, which is scheduled to take place at Shawfield on 17th March, 2012.
Farley Ninja will be competing over the 480 metre course for £150 against Toggle Storm, Caledonian Brae, Harry Lauder, Citizen Rebel, and Deerfin Dream.
Trained by P. Weir, the hound will be sent as the favourite. The son of Tyrur Ted, out of Gracious Lee, has the advantage of the familiar ground, as he raced at Shawfield for most of his career.
He bagged a victory on 11th February, 2012 as he defeated, Frankys Back, by a large 5 ½ lengths in 18.45 seconds.
His next race was just as impressive, but this time he landed a finish in second place as he was defeated by, Greenwell Thor, by 1 ¾ lengths on 18th
February, 2012.
His most recent race saw a setback as the hound finished in fourth place in the Grade OR Bettor.com Scottish Derby Trial Stake DIV B on 10th March, 2012. He finished fourth in 30.01 seconds where as first place victor Droopys
Cristian finished in 29.31 seconds.
All of these races took place at Shawfield, which is where this race is taking place. This is one of the reasons that the bets are being placed on this hound.
Competing against Farley Ninja is Citizen Rebel, who is a strong competitor but lacks experience. Along with that, the hound has not raced at Shawfield as much and ran few races at Cork over a range of distances. The change in track over such a crucial
race could back fire.
The son of Head Bound, out of Dynamo Minnie, finished as a runner-up at Shawfield on 3rd March, 2012 as he was defeated by Grayslands Bubba by 1 length.
Caledonian Brae also looks like a threat to Farley Ninja on the race track. She has a huge advantage on her hands as she raced her entire career on this track.
Trained by G. Carmichael, the b***h has been showing consistency on the track. Her form is improving and she may take the lead in this race.
She was the race favourite in the Grade HP 480m flat race on 14th January, 2012, but finished fourth. She was crowded, hence couldn’t break free from the pack.
The daughter of Kinloch Brae, out of Lerrig Lass, finished in second place in the Grade HP 480m flat race, as he was defeated by a near negligible distance of a neck by At Your Service, on 3rd March, 2012. She finished in 29.76
seconds, where as the race victor finished in 29.74 seconds.
She bagged a victory in her most recent race as she defeated, Jimmy Bow Tie, by 2 lengths in the Grade OR Bettor.com Scottish Derby Trial Stakes Div C at Shawfield on 10th March, 2012. She finished in 29.93 seconds where as
Jimmy Bow Tie finished in 30.09 seconds.
The bettors are predicting Farley Ninja’s victory, but Caledonian Brae is a tough competitor looking to take the lead from the hound.
Citizen Rebel may seize the opportunity and finish third.
